The Trusted Leader in EMDR Equipment

NeuroTek is the global leader in equipment designed to aid clinicians in administering Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Our commitment to quality and support has facilitated countless success stories, highlighting the transformative potential of EMDR therapy. Our impact extends beyond equipment, as we provide educational resources and partner with EMDR institutes, research organizations and non-profits worldwide to support a thriving community of dedicated practitioners.

In the Beginning

NeuroTek was founded in 1989 by Doug Fisher, an electrical engineer by trade. Doug was introduced to EMDR by his wife, a therapist who had trained with the method’s founder, Dr. Francine Shapiro. Many clinicians championed EMDR as a groundbreaking technique for healing trauma, but were frustrated by the lack of user-friendly equipment. Manual administration of tapping and eye-movement techniques left clinicians physically strained and unable to take accurate notes during sessions.

Doug realized that with his expertise in electrical engineering, he could design products to ease therapists' work and improve treatment outcomes. He immediately began working on a Light Bar prototype, and NeuroTek was born.

New Leadership

In 2014, seasoned professionals Mike and Danielle Corkery acquired NeuroTek. Danielle brought expertise from her leadership roles in Fortune 500 retail organizations, while Michael drew on his background in financial services and operations.

This husband-and-wife team shares a commitment to creating products that improve lives. This alignment of values allowed them to bring fresh energy and a customer-centric approach to NeuroTek, building on the company’s foundational mission.

About NeuroTek

NeuroTek: Science and Healing

The Beginning

As a dedicated therapist committed to helping trauma survivors, she saw firsthand how her patients struggled with the limitations of traditional therapies. The journey to find a more practical approach led her to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy—a groundbreaking technique with powerful results. After training under Francine Shapiro, she returned to her Colorado practice, eager to make a difference. However, the lack of user-friendly, accessible EMDR equipment was a barrier. Manual administration of tapping and eye-movement techniques left her physically strained, highlighting a critical gap in available therapeutic tools.

The Birth of NeuroTek

In 1989, Doug Fisher, an electrical engineer, founded NeuroTek with a vision inspired by his wife’s work as an EMDR therapist. Observing the physical toll and logistical challenges she faced in her practice, Doug realized that the right tools could ease therapists' work and improve treatment outcomes. Leveraging his engineering expertise, Doug developed practical solutions to support EMDR therapy.

NeuroTek’s first product, the EyeScan (Light Bar), addressed many common pain points for therapists. This was followed by the portable Tac/Audio Scan and the versatile Advanced LapScan, expanding NeuroTek’s product line to meet diverse therapeutic needs. As the EMDR community grew, NeuroTek became known for empowering therapists with reliable, intuitive technology, maximizing the effectiveness of EMDR therapy.

New Leadership

In 2014, Michael and Danielle Corkery, both seasoned professionals with extensive experience in business operations, acquired NeuroTek. Danielle brought expertise from her leadership roles in Fortune 500 retail organizations and Verizon Wireless, while Michael drew on his financial services and operations background. Having also owned Pool Guard, a company focused on pool safety, they shared a commitment to creating products that protect and improve lives. This alignment of values allowed them to bring fresh energy and a customer-centric approach to NeuroTek, building on the company’s foundational mission.

Innovation for Therapists

From its beginnings, NeuroTek has focused on developing high-quality EMDR equipment based on therapists’ needs and feedback. This collaborative approach has led to a product line accommodating varying preferences and budgets. Each innovation—from the Classic Tac to wireless pulsers—demonstrates NeuroTek’s dedication to making EMDR therapy more accessible and effective.
